The Whitley County Indiana Tour Guide, “Your Journey to Our Past” is a concise compilation of facts and the history of Whitley County in a driving tour book form. It is approximately 40 pages of information on the 9 townships of Whitley County. Each township has its own section and each section includes information on towns and cities, cemeteries, one room schools and historic landmarks. The individual listings are designated on a corresponding map by coordinating colors for specific numbered sites. There is a special section on the Military Memorial Markers located on the Courthouse Square in Columbia City. The book concludes with a page of heartfelt thanks to all contributors. We hope this book will encourage all ages to learn about the part that Whitley County played and still plays in Indiana history by taking the time to read, plan and drive a part of our shared history.
