Farmers used to have steam engines come to their farms to thresh their grain. At lunch time, the workers would all gather together for what became known as the thresher’s dinner. The wives and daughters of the workers would prepare the hearty meal and neighbors would come and enjoy an afternoon of fellowship. This event will capture that tradition as we plan to have a pitch-in style meal and yard games for the children while the adults visit with one another.
