A documentary film for public television and follow-up educational program will celebrate the history of the unique natural resources in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties whose Lake Michigan dune lands are known as the birthplace of ecological science in North America. The story will demonstrate the nationally significant restoration and pollution cleanup being achieved by expanding partnerships among corporations, governments and advocacy volunteers. The resources include the Indiana Dunes State Park and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The Lake County Legacy Foundation is the fiscal agent for the not for profit project and the Lakeshore Public Television is our hosting broadcast station with a planned Earth Day 2016 release of the documentary in Indiana.
