Blackford County women were business and professional women, family matriarchs, veterans and local philanthropists during the mid-twentieth century. Their stories have rarely been recorded. Since many are now nearing their ninetieth birthdays, the Women of Worth will collect and preserve these stories through an oral history project that has local youth volunteers conducting and recording interviews of these women. Their stories will be shared on the Blackford County Historical Society website, and in the Blackford High School student newspaper, pamphlets, exhibits and the 2016 Women of Worth program. The interviews will also be preserved in the Historical Society archives.
