A Judicial History of the Franklin County Circuit Court
As taken from the “Forward” section of the research, this project is meant to provide a brief history of the establishment of the seat of justice in Franklin County, Indiana, the structures wherein justice has been administered, the judges who have served in the administration of justice since statehood, some of their political struggles associated with that public trust, as well as some noted cases decided by these jurists over the past two hundred years.

Whta do you consider the key accomplishment of your Legacy Project?
- Education of the local community of the court which has served it for the past two hundred years.
Describe a highlight or most memorable moment related to your Legacy Project.
- The research was used for a Masters in Judicial Studies Independent Project which was recognized by the Judicial Conference of Indiana at its annual meeting in 2016 and was used as the basis for a public talk held on December 11, 2016 in the Franklin county Circuit Court courtroom in Brookville, Indiana.
How/where are you preserving information and artifacts related to your Legacy Project?
- The research was complied and published as a hard-bound book and distributed to the local courts and libraries from Madison to Richmond Indiana as well as the Indiana State Library, The Indiana Historical Society, and the Library of the Indiana Supreme Court.
