The Monroe County Parks and Recreation: Bicentennial Nature Center Network (BNCN) draws on the impact of membership in a state-wide nature center coalition, while combining these efforts with the strength and depth of local project impact. Partnering with Cope Environmental Center and 14+ nature centers state-wide, Monroe County Parks & Recreation contributes to the development of the state-wide BNCN, supports the Children of Indiana Bicentennial Park (CIBP) environmental education program; and develops, as applicable, a local environmental child-focused bicentennial celebration. The Bicentennial Nature Center Network represents Indiana’s first effort to create a sustained state-wide network of Hoosier Nature Centers. Eagle Creek Park is a key partner in this effort at both the State and local levels.
