Legacy Projects > Interpretive Trail at Oppenheim Woods Nature Preserve Interpretive Trail at Oppenheim Woods Nature Preserve

We are establishing a parking area and a 1.2 mile interpretive trail for visitors to enjoy Oppenheim Woods Nature Preserve. This forest is a 63-acre mature hardwood forest that provides the public with a glimpse of Indiana’s pre-agricultural natural history. Massive, untouched trees, including oak, hickory, tulip poplar and other species tower above a rich understory of native flowers and sedges. Our trail will educate guests on our state’s natural heritage and what they can do to preserve it in Kosciusko County.
