Chancellor Thomas Coley, Ivy Tech Community College Northwest and Northeast Regions will announce the dedication of the Octave Chanute Biplane Glider Dream Memorial on July 14, 2016 at the Gary Campus. This outside memorial will be a metal replica of the 1896 Biplane Glider that helped get the Wright Brothers off the ground. This project will inspire future innovators and entrepreneurs, and honor the late Dr. Richard Sussman for his contributions. This memorial will be dedicated to future “thinkers, dreamers, doers, and innovators.” Located at the community college, it will serve as an inspiration to encourage future entrepreneurs and innovators, not only among Ivy Tech students, but students everywhere.
