Batesville’s 43rd Annual Music and Arts Festival, a three-day event, kicks-off on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Liberty Park, featuring the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra, performing selections from Indiana’s very own Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter. Run like the wind during the Southeastern Indiana YMCA’s 5K walk/run. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday June 16 events include the Rural Alliance for the Arts Community Art Show, 7 p.m. downtown Batesville. Entries judged in fine art, photography, and applied art categories. Don’t miss the many Bicentennial themed events like cookies and canvas, and face painting classes. On Friday June 17, finale events begin at 7:30 p.m. The 37th Annual County Showdown presented by WRBI. Visit the Historical Society’s and Mayor’s Youth Council Bicentennial booths.
