After our luncheon our chapter American History Essay Contest winners and Good Citizens read their history and citizenship essays as part of our program. In addition to being our guests for lunch, the history students are given recognition certificates and bronze medals for excellence in American History. We also prepare recognition certificates and awards to the top 6 place winners and certificates to all who participate. The Good Citizens also receive certificates, pins, and cash awards. At the luncheon our Good Citizen chapter winner is announced and that student moves on to the state level. DAR Good Citizens continue to have a profound state and national impact.
