The municipalities of Auburn, Angola, Hamilton, Fremont, Waterloo, Indiana and the Steuben County Tourism Bureau have partnered together to create a “yarn art” trail. The project will be installed on January 30 and be displayed in each of these downtowns through the month of February. The idea is to display the time honored craft of crocheting and knitting in a unique, fun and interactive way. Each downtown has designated areas that local citizens and organizations have committed to decorate with their yarn creations. This type of decoration is widely known as “yarn bombing,” but is also known as “yarnstorms” or “yarn graffiti.” Downtown Angola has designated certain downtown structures to be intended to display useful yarn creations like hats and gloves. These are meant for those in need to take for their own use.
