In June 1816, under the arms of an elm tree in Corydon, folks gathered to write the constitution for the state of Indiana…200 years later, we gather to share the story of our statehood! Storytelling artist Susan Fowler uses quilts, feathers, maps, simple props, sign language and creative drama to bring this Hoosier history to life. All ages are welcome to experience and explore this celebration of legend and lore, joy and tears, people and their landscape! From the Shawnee, Miami and French people to the Wabash, Great Miami, Maumee and Ohio Rivers, this program highlights and brings to life the stories, landscape, songs, events and people from 1816.
