We wanted to brighten up our county and spruce up the Torch Relay route. So we worked with a local nursery and planted yellow mums and blue asters to represent Indiana’s colors. Flowers were sold to local businesses and some local residents along the route. A group of volunteers gathered on Greene County’s Day of Service (Sept. 11) to pot 300 flowers. Flowers were delivered the week of the torch relay and looked beautiful as the torch passed through our county. We were proud to have kept this project completely local.
