Question Presented
MISC
Staff report was given.
The Commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution which instructs the Executive Director to make "expeditious referrals" to prosecuting authorities upon a vote for such by the full Commission. If a lobbyist who is the subject of a prosecutorial referral remedies his/her delinquency before the Executive Director makes the written referral to prosecutorial authorities, the Executive Director is correct in not making the referral.
The Commissioners unanimously agreed to refer AIDServe Indiana to prosecuting authorities for its failure to file a year-end activity report for FY 2000, and for its failure to file a year-end activity report for FY 1999. The Commissioners unanimously agreed to refer American Institute for Public Safety to prosecuting authorities for its failure to file a year-end activity report for FY 1999. The Commissioners unanimously agreed to refer Quick Cash Pawn & Check Cashing to prosecuting authorities for its failure to file a year-end activity report for FY 1999. The Commissioners unanimously agreed to refer William Henry, Mary Ann Maroon, and Daniel Perrin for their failure to file delinquent reports, but extended the deadline for the prosecutorial referral to August 7, 2001, based upon a recommendation for such made by the Executive Director.
The Commissioners instructed the Executive Director to draft a letter to legislators which discusses issues relating to late filing fees and which also begins a dialogue about statutory changes relating to providing incentives for electronic filing.
Public comment was accepted.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:15 A.M.
