Longtime board member and Indiana educator Brian Abbott to lead INPRS board as Chair, Barry Gardner to serve as Vice-Chair

During the Sept. 6, 2024, meeting of the INPRS Board of Trustees, the Board conducted the election of new officers for the Chair and Vice-Chair roles.

Ten-year board veteran and Indiana educator Brian Abbott was nominated and elected unopposed as the new chairman of the INPRS Board of Trustees. Brian succeeds former Chair Bret Swanson. Previously, Brian served as vice-chair and teaches at Riverview Middle School in the Huntington County Community School Corporation. During his nomination, Brian was commended for his initiative and commitment to continue to make INPRS better.

First-year board member Barry Gardner was nominated and elected unopposed as the new vice-chair of the INPRS Board of Trustees. Barry succeeds former Vice-Chair Brian Abbott. Barry joined the Board in January 2024. Barry is the Director of School Services Policy Analytics LLC and previously held roles in leadership and finance with Speedway Schools, Brownsburg Community School Corporation, and the Wayne Township Metropolitan School District.

Their terms began upon election at the Sept. 6, 2024, meeting and will run for the entire year.
