Today the Indiana
Utility Regulatory Commission approved a request by the City of Delphi, Indiana
Municipal Water Utility to implement a two-phase rate increase to pay for
improvements to the city’s water utility.
Cause No. 40953, is
a modification to a settlement agreement with the Indiana Office of the Utility
Consumer Counselor reached in 1998 and will be implemented in two phases. The utility is authorized to increase rates
immediately to pay for improvements that have already been completed.
The average bill
for customers who use 5000-gallons of water a month will increase from $14.60
to $20.51.
The second phase of
the increase will be implemented when the company finishes the construction of
a new well field and water treatment plant.
The City of Delphi
Water Utility is located in Carroll County, Indiana. It serves nearly 1200 residents.
