IURC APPROVES CERTIFICATE OF TERRITORIAL AUTHORITY
REQUESTED BY THE REYNOLDS GROUP
Today
the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a request by the Reynolds
Group for a certificate of territorial authority (CTA) to provide sewage
disposal service in a rural area of Floyd County, Indiana.
In
Cause No. 41559, the Commissioners feel it is in the best interest of the
public to approve the project, with stipulations. The project includes service for a planned 95-lot residential
subdivision along North Luther Road and a partially developed commercial area
known as Williamsburg Station at the intersection of US150 and Old Vincennes
Road.
Within
30-days of this order the company must file a map depicting the CTA area,
including the main route and easements of the service area. The company is required to file a generic
form of its notice to customers disclosing the anticipated change in rates and
an explanation of the method for estimating the rates, and the possible need
for a true-up of rates. It has 30-days to report to the Commission on its ability to expand into nearby areas
which includes properties with failing septic systems.
In
addition, the Reynolds Group must also file a renewed five-year personal
guarantee signed by its parent company within 30-days.
The
Reynolds Group is an investor owned for-profit organization. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aqua
Source, Inc., which, in turn, is a wholly owned subsidiary of DQE.
