Today
the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a settlement agreement
between Sani Tech and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor and the
Rolling Vista Homeowners Association that will result in a rate increase.
The
settlement in Cause No. 41644, authorizes the company to increase its rates and
charges in three phases. During the
first phase sewer services will increase to $60 a month for 12-months. In Phase Two customers will pay $65 dollars
a month for 12-months and in Phase Three the rates and charges for sewer
service will increase to $70 a month.
In
February 2001, the Commissioners issued an order on a request for a rate
increase by Sani Tech in an amount less than requested by the company. Sani Tech appealed that order and asked to
use the Commission’s alternative dispute resolution process.
As
part of the settlement, Sani Tech agrees not to seek another rate increase for
36-months and has dropped its appeal of the earlier order.
