Today
the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a settlement agreement with
Morgan County Rural Water and the Office of the Indiana Utility Consumer
Counselor that will result in a rate increase for customers of Morgan County
Rural Water Corporation.
In
Cause No. 42025, the Commissioners agreed that a rate increase of 19.65% was
justified. The increase means a
customer who uses 4,500 gallons of water a month will see their bill increase
from $23.21 to $27.77.
Morgan County has a
western expansion area where customers pay a $14.30 per month surcharge. The
surcharge will be reduced to $9.74 per month in that area.
Morgan
County Rural Water serves nearly 2,200 customers in western Morgan County,
Indiana.
