Today the Indiana
Utility Regulatory Commission approved a rate increase requested by the city of
South Bend. The amount of the increase
is the result of a settlement agreement between the City of South Bend and the
Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor.
In Cause No. 42077,
the Commissioners agree that it is in the best interest of the utility’s
customers to allow the rate increase.
The money raised will be used to pay for capital improvements to the
city’s supply and distribution mains.
