Septic System Permit Process Packet
- Get Your Soil Tested
- Know where your septic system is to be located.
- Call a certified soil consultant, a list of names are available at the Henry County Health Department.
- Complete An Application
- A septic permit application from the Henry County Health Department.
- You may complete this application at any time.
- Wait for Technical Specification Data Sheet
- Will be completed and in the mail within 48 hours after we receive your application and soil test.
- This states what type and size of septic system which is required.
- Give a technical specification datasheet to your septic contractor.
- Contractor Must Provide the Septic System Plan to the Health Department Before an On-site Evaluation is Scheduled.
- Schedule an On-site Evaluation
- This is to review the system plan for the septic system that the contractor has prepared.
- When the plan is in compliance with code, a septic permit is issued.
- Pay for and Receive the Septic Permit
- New construction - $225.00
- Replacement and/or expansion - $200.00
- Repair of a system component ONLY - $75.00
- Connect to an existing system - $50.00
- Renew an expired permit - $200.00
- Commercial projects - $200.00
- Schedule Final Inspection
- Henry County Health Department will do the final inspection of the septic system.
- A copy of the final inspection approval will be available on file in our office.
