Storm Clean-up

We are asking all residents to please help with the cleanup effort by placing small sticks, limbs, branches, bush/brush trimmings, and other yard debris in your Toters for Friday’s pickup.
This service is included as part of your REFUSE bill, so please take advantage of it!
Keeping as much of the smaller storm debris contained in your Toters will help get properties cleaned up as quickly as possible.
If you don't have a yard toter, request one from Borden Refuse at 574-293-5001

STORM CLEANUP UPDATE:
The TCSD is out and will continue working on storm-related damage throughout the Town. Due to the extent of the damage across Trail Creek, cleanup of the larger SLB debris will take some time. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as our crews work through the Town.
IMPORTANT:
Large/long branches must be cut into max of 8 foot lengths for pickup.

We appreciate everyone's help and cooperation as we work together to get Trail Creek cleaned up after this storm.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for helping keep the Town of Trail Creek clean!

Often referred to as "Tree Lined Trail Creek", the town covers a wooded area of approximately 1.25 square miles with 900 homes and a population of 2,452. The town lies within portions of Michigan and Coolspring Townships.

The dividing line for these two townships is the center line of Coolspring Avenue, with Michigan Township to the North and Coolspring Township to the South. Day to day business is administered by a five person Town Council and a Clerk Treasurer who are all elected for terms of four years. In addition, the Town Council is responsible for appointing qualified residents to positions on auxiliary commissions and boards.

Town budgetary functions are paid through revenues derived from local property taxes, county and state shared taxes, shared riverboat proceeds from the City of Michigan City and some additional user fees. The town is a supporting member of various governmental and civic organizations, including the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT), Northwest Indiana Council of Towns and Small Cities (TASC), South Shore Clean Cities and Access La Porte County.
