Role Overview:

Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner
The Harrison County Health Department is looking for a part-time Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner for their preparedness division. The position will coordinate all aspects the preparedness grant, create and monitor county plans and work in partnership with Harrison County Emergency Management for drills and response as needed.

Salary Statement:

This is a part-time contract position. The hourly rate is $30 per hour for up to 24 hours per week.

A Day in the Life:

--Knowledge of public health practices, environmental health, hazardous materials, disease, outbreaks, and preparedness activities
--Experience with managing volunteers, budgeting, planning, public speaking, and serving the public required.
--Computer skills a must with knowledge of Microsoft Office and other programs.

Requirements for Success:

--Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, Environmental Science
--Minimum of three years of preparedness knowledge and/or experience in lieu of college education.
--Ability to perform minor office procedures confidently and efficiently
--Able to work some evenings
--Valid driver's license
