For criminal cases, cases are filed in Superior Court 1 when the highest level of the offense charged is murder, capital murder, Class A felony, Class D felony, Level 1 felony, Level 2 felony, or Level 6 felony.

All Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Status, Juvenile Miscellaneous (JM), and Mental Health case types are also filed in Superior Court I.

Judge Clouse

Judge Clouse received his B.A. from Indiana University – Bloomington and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law.

On December 9, 2021, Clouse became the 4th Judge of the Noble Superior Court, Division 1, after being appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb to fill the vacancy left by Judge Robert Kirsch’s retirement.

Prior to joining the court, Clouse worked in private practice and also served as Noble County Prosecuting Attorney from 1999 to 2014. While in private practice Clouse represented the City of Ligonier, and the Town of Albion, and also served as a Deputy Public Defender.

Clouse is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Noble County Bar Association. Clouse and his family attend the South Milford Church of Christ.
