Professionalizing a Current Indiana School Services License

School Counselor

School Counselors who hold a five-year Practitioner License might be eligible to Professionalize their license to a 10-Year Accomplished Practitioner’s license if they meet the following requirements:

  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school counselor in an accredited school
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five (5) years

Required documents needed to professionalize a School Counselor license

  • Official transcripts showing renewal coursework, OR approved PGP, OR NBPTS.
  • Proof of two (2) years of counseling experience in an accredited school.
  • Valid CPR card from IDOE-approved provider.

School Nurse

School Nurses who hold a five-year Practitioner License might be eligible to Professionalize their license to a 10-Year Accomplished Practitioner’s license if they meet the following requirements:

  • Official transcripts showing completion of Masters in Nursing degree from accredited institution.
  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school nurse in an accredited school.
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five (5) years.

Required documents needed to professionalize a School Nurse license

  • Official transcripts showing completion of Masters in Nursing degree from accredited institution
  • Valid IPLA License
  • Official transcripts showing renewal coursework, OR approved PGP, OR NBPTS.
  • Proof of two (2) years School Nurse experience in an accredited school.
  • Valid CPR card from IDOE-approved provider.

School Psychologist

SLP’s who hold a five-year Practitioner License might be eligible to Professionalize their license to a 10-Year Accomplished Practitioner’s license if they meet the following requirements:

  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school speech language pathologist in an accredited school
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five (5) years

Required documents needed to professionalize a Social Worker license

  • Valid IPLA license.
  • Proof of two (2) years of experience in an accredited school
  • Valid CPR card from IDOE-approved provider.
