NEW! 2022 SFSP Sponsor Training Requirements for New & Returning Sponsors
The Indiana Department of Education Office of School and Community Nutrition is excited to announce Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) trainings for all new and returning sponsors. Both new and returning sponsors must complete all state agency administrative training requirements prior to application approval in CNPweb. In addition, sponsors must properly train and document all local operating staff trainings, including program volunteers.
- New organizations, agencies that skipped a year of sponsorship or have new staff in charge of SFSP operations
Attending in-person training is the first step in meeting the training requirement for new organizations and agencies that skipped a year or have new staff in charge. In addition, applicant agencies must participate in a virtual SFSP Technical Assistance (TA) Session and complete the online Civil Rights Training 2021-2022 (IDE-150). This will be discussed further during the in-person training.
Before registering below, fill out the Potential New Sponsor Survey, and review the following reminders and frequently asked questions:
REMINDERS:
- Identification: A security screening will be conducted at the entrance of the training location. Be prepared to present a photo ID, such as a valid driver’s license.
- Training attendance: Although completing a free/no-cost training is a mandatory prerequisite for all new organizations or agencies that skipped a year of sponsorship or have new staff, it does not obligate an agency to a sponsorship nor does it render automatic approval from IDOE.
- Weather: In case of hazardous weather, training may be cancelled. Enrolled participants will be notified via email.
- Start time: Trainings hosted in Indianapolis follow Eastern Standard Time. Please plan accordingly.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Is training attendance required? Attending this training is a mandatory prerequisite for all new organizations or agencies that skipped a year of sponsorship or have new staff as it will provide a valuable overview of program requirements.
