The Indiana State Archives holds a large collection of government posters from World War I and World War II, collected by the Indiana War History Commission. Most of the posters were created and published by the federal government, but local and regional examples are also present. Any images with the Indiana State Archives logo have been digitally restored and are available as prints at the Archives. Any requests for prints or images for publication should be directed to arc@iara.in.gov.
The Archives has examples of trademarks registered with the state from 1888-1983. Items from all industries exist, and most trademarks are included in the Research Indiana Index.
The Archives has plans and blueprints for many state buildings and sites, as well as some blueprints for private structures submitted to the State Fire Marshal.
Photographs may appear in any Archives collection, but the Archives holds large collections from the State Fair Commission, the Indianapolis Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home, and Indiana Film Commission.
The Beatles played their only show in Indiana on September 3rd, 1964 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum. Their two shows were watched by a combination of 29,337 people. The Archives holds a number of photos of the event.
The Archives has a comprehensive collection of aerial photographs from every county ranging from the 1930s to the 1980s. While the Indiana State Library Holds the state's map collection, the Archives has a variety of maps from the local to state level.
The Archives holds records of all possible forms and origins. From legislation, to court orders, to correspondence, the written record is the bulk of the Archives' collection.
