RIM TAKEOVER!

Every April the Records and Information Management (RIM) division takes over IARA's blog and social media channels to celebrate RIM Month. See below for a variety of useful resources to help you level up your RIM skills.

WHAT IS RIM MONTH?

RIM Month is a way to 1. increase knowledge about the importance of maintaining records to make government more efficient, 2. connect you with resources that can help, and 3. spread that knowledge!

DESTRUCTION!

For April 2025 RIM Month we are highlighting destruction of records and data. Now, this might seem counterintuitive for an archive but think of it like spring cleaning. You can't find the things you need when your house is a mess. It's the same with records. It is important to dispose of records that have met their disposition so you can quickly and efficiently find the information you do need. This kind of clean up can also save you lots of money! Get rid of the files and data that you do not need, but that is costing you physical or server storage.

CAREFUL DESTRUCTION

Any records clean up needs to be done with care and planning. Otherwise, you might find you've destroyed an active record or important data. Read the RIM Takeover blog post linked below to learn more.
