Renewal Requirements (Please click here for initial registration)
Pursuant to Indiana Code (IC) 27-16, a Professional Employer Organization doing business in Indiana must renew their registration with the Indiana Department of Insurance (additional guidance is also provided in Rule 760 IAC 1-73). There are three ways to renew:
FULL RENEWAL:
This type of renewal is for a PEO that is domiciled in Indiana or is located in a state whose licensure or registration requirements are not substantially similar or more restrictive pursuant to IC 27-16-4-6.
LIMITED RENEWAL:
The limited renewal is reserved for a PEO that is domiciled, licensed or registered in a state other than Indiana, but said state has registration requirements that are substantially similar or more restrictive pursuant to IC 27-16-4-6. The following states are currently recognized as meeting this criterion: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Montana, New York, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin. If home/designated state doesn't issue a Certificate of Good Standing, then a certified copy of license will need to be provided.
Full and Limited renewals can be submitted online at www.sircon.com/Indiana. Renewals will not be available for submission until 60 days prior to expiration of license.
Please be refer to the last page of the application form for a listing of required items which need to accompany the renewal. The application form is located at https://www.in.gov/idoi/2360.htm by clicking on the link which corresponds to the type of registration the PEO currently holds. If the PEO wishes to change the type of registration, please be sure to include a cover letter advising the Department of this change. The application form is not to be completed and attached as all information and questions are captured within the electronic renewal record.
To avoid increasing fees of printing and mailing costs, the Department of Insurance will be emailing renewal notices and licenses to the last contact email on file with the Department.
CERTIFIED RENEWAL:
A certified renewal is only issued to such PEOs as are approved by an Independent National Organization. Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC) is an approved Independent National Organization for certifying PEO applicants for registration in Indiana.
Submit payment online at www.sircon.com/Indiana by using a credit card. You will need to print a copy of your confirmation of payment and submit to ESAC for processing of your application.
