Public involvement is an integral element of the U.S. 50 East project. The goal of the public involvement program is to disseminate information about the project and to gather questions, concerns and ideas from those potentially affected by it. By bringing issues and concerns to the surface throughout the process, the project team can better shape alternatives to address community needs and avoid, minimize or mitigate potential impacts of the project.
Elements of the public involvement program include this project website, news releases to local media outlets for notification of appropriate project activities and milestones, social media sites on both Facebook and Twitter, public meetings, small group meetings, and a public hearing.
