High Profile Change Awareness Notice

To maintain a secure environment, the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) is applying Microsoft’s May 2021 OS and Office critical and important security patches to all production workstations. Updates will be installed during the nightly maintenance window starting at midnight on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Agency production computers must remain online overnight so they can receive the updates. If the computer is not left online overnight, it will not receive the Windows updates. If not initiated before 10 a.m. on Friday, May 28 – the patching will begin automatically (in the middle of the day). This applies to EVERYONE.

Testers discovered one rare error after installing the patch. Users may be unable to connect to Microsoft 365 desktop clients, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive for Business. Impacted users may see the following error: "We're sorry – we've run into an issue." Or “80080300” when attempting to connect or sign in. To solve this issue, users can restart their computers.
