All entities, whether applying for grant funding or seeking a contract opportunity, must be registered with multiple state/federal agencies and be in good standing. Visit the links below to ensure your entity is in good standing and meets basic eligibility requirements to receive funding from the State of Indiana.
- Federal System for Award Management (SAM) Registration
- Any entity seeking federal funds must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and be fully registered, active, and
in good standing with SAM.gov. - Entities not fully registered with SAM.gov are ineligible to be considered for funding and cannot receive and federally funded grant awards until registration is current and in good standing.

- Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA) Supplier Division
- Any entity seeking federal or state funds must be registered as a "bidder" and "supplier" with the Indiana Department of Administration.

- Funds may not be awarded or disbursed to an entity that is not actively registered with IDOA and in good standing.
- Verify your registration status with the Supplier Division or create a new registration by visiting the link above.
- Supplier Diversity Division
- Entities that meet the state's definition of Minority-owned Business Entity (MBE), Women-owned Business Entity (WBE), or Indiana Veteran-owned Small Business (IVOSB/VBE) should consider registering with the IDOA's Supplier Diversity Division.
- This designation allows MBE/WBE/VBEs to bid on solicitations which have a domestic procurement preference.
- MBE/WBE/VBE certification is not required but present greater opportunities for entities wishing to do business with the State of Indiana.
- Annual recertification is required to maintain MBE/WBE/VBE status in good standing.
- Indiana Secretary of State (SOS) Business Entity Registration
- All non-governmental entities wishing to do business in the State must be actively registered with the Secretary of State's Office.
- Grant funds cannot be awarded to out-of-state grant applicants, but some contracts may be awarded to out-of-state business entities.

- Indiana Department of Revenue Business Tax Registration
- All entities doing business within the State of Indiana must be registered with the Department of Revenue and remit applicable business taxes to the Department of Revenue.
- Registration is handled through the SOS's business registration portal.
- Entities must also have a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) and remit applicable business taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.
Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) State Tax UI Enrollment - Business entities that have paid wages in Indiana and met employer qualifications are required to register with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
- Eligible businesses must remit UI taxes to the State Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund.
- Businesses that are delinquent in remitting UI taxes to DWD are ineligible to receive additional grants or contracts from the State of Indiana.
