Biographical Note:
Clarence Edward Benadum was born on June 7, 1889, in Delaware County, Indiana. His parents were Spencer H. and Cora E. Milhollin Benadum. He graduated from Valparaiso University. Benadum married Mary B. Brandt on June 28, 1917. He had various careers in the West before beginning his career as a lawyer. Benadum served in the field artillery during World War I after which he returned to private practice specializing in criminal and damage cases. He was elected to Prosecuting Attorney of Delaware County in 1919 and held that position for two terms. His law firm, Benadum and Cecil was located in Muncie, Indiana. He was a member of the Delaware County Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association of which he was an organizer and president. In addition to his law career, Benadum was also an author of two books, Blackshirt (1935) and Bates House (1951). He died on November 12, 1978.
