CCHD is unable to take personal checks, online payments of are credit/debit available, but please be informed we are not able to issue refunds.

Vital Records

Certificates are available for persons who were born or died in CLAY COUNTY of INDIANA.  Appropriate documentation, including picture ID must be presented with the completed application. No refunds once submitted.

Genealogical Services

Birth and Death Records for Clay County start in the year 1882.

Notice to genealogist:

  1. Complete one (1) application for each request
  2. All Birth and Death requests will be mailed via USPS if located.
  3. *Research will be limited to one (1) hour per visit. No refunds for records unable to be located.

*All genealogy research will be done at the Registrar’s convenience.
