Our Mission

The mission of the Gary Health & Human Services Department is to:

• Manage and deliver services that impact and record issues relating to the health of the citizens of Gary, Indiana;
• Recommend policy for ordinances and laws that will govern Public Health practices based on Indiana codes and community needs; and
• Serve a culturally diverse population, courteously and professionally, with respect for their dignity without discrimination based on national origin, race, color creed, religion, age, sex or disability.
