Environmental Health Specialists (EHS's) are responsible for complaint investigation, permit issuance for food establishments, septic systems, tattoo/piercing parlors, and public swimming pools, as well as plan review for new home and business construction.
EHS's conduct inspections for: food establishments, septic system install/repair, tattoo/piercing parlors, public swimming pools, housing and trash complaints, disease causing vectors, and other environmental concerns.
Environmental Health Specialists also serve as a point of contact for the public with questions about the aforementioned items, and work to help educate the public on various matters of environmental concern.
