The Randolph County Health Department participates in a grant through the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) to provide for planning, communicating, and coordinating with local and regional agencies and officials in case of a health-related emergency that may affect the citizens of Randolph County. In the past, potential health issues have included Ebola, Avian Flu, Swine Flu, Hepatitis outbreaks, and other diseases.
Randolph County is part of the ISDH District-6 Health Care Coalition (HCC) consisting of 13 counties in east-central Indiana. All preparedness activities and supplies are coordinated and combined throughout the District which means Randolph County has access to the resources of Wayne (Richmond), Delaware (Muncie), and Madison (Anderson) Counties in case of an emergency. The local representative to the District HCC is Codi LeMaster. Codi is being trained by Matt Simmons, who has been the Public Health Coordinator (PHC) since 2011. They will work closely with the Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Saint Vincent Randolph Hospital to coordinate responses to public health problems that may arise.
