The Wayne County Health Department is here to serve, promote, and protect the health & safety of our community.
The Division of Environmental Health provides education, consultation, plan review, permitting, and inspection services to the general public as well as the regulated community. Some examples of facilities that the Division regulates include, public and semipublic swimming pools, public accommodations such as hotels and motels, on-site septic tank systems, food establishments such as restaurants, bars, grocery stores, school cafeterias, gas stations, hospitals, and mobile/temporary food vendors. The Division also investigates citizens' complaints and nuisance situations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all county residents.
