The Board of Registration for Soil Scientists is the state agency responsible for the licensing and discipline of soil scientists. The Indiana General Assembly established the Board in 2001 through legislation codified at IC 25-31.5. The Board adopted rules to help administer its statutory responsibilities at 307 IAC.
Administrative review (more commonly called "appeals") of decisions by the Board is performed by Administrative Law Judges for the Natural Resources Commission.
The Indiana State Chemist at Purdue University performs many of the day-to-day functions of the Board of Registration for Soil Scientists.
