Welcome to Sandborn
Welcome to the Town of Sandborn, Indiana. Sandborn is a town in Vigo Township, Knox County, Indiana, United States.
Located in the extreme northeast corner of Knox County in the midst of the very fertile White River bottom farming area, a community was founded by Thomas Anderson II, who with his mother, Margarette Anderson, and his sister had migrated from England via New York, Louisville, Vincennes and Carlisle between 1798 and 1800.
Mr. Anderson started an Indian trading post, which stood near the southeast side of the present city limits. The community, as it grew, became known as Branham. In 1868 the citizens organized and changed the name to Sandborn in honor of a much admired railroad surveyor, living here at that time.
As of 2018, the population of Sandborn was estimated to be 406.
