Besides being home to Legendary Southern Gospel Artist/Songwriters, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Alexandria is a vibrant "faith first" community. Along with many places of workship Alexandria is home to a women's Christian transitional home, community clothing distribution center, and a local food pantry. The local ministries meet monthly as the Alexandria Ministerial Association. The combined efforts of the churches work to hold an annual Community Thanksgiving Service and Good Friday Service.
