A juror may request a deferral from jury service due to undue hardship, extreme inconvenience, or public necessity. Deferral requests are not automatically approved, but must be considered on the basis of their merit. Click the button below to submit an online deferral request. - WHAT IS THE PROPER ATTIRE?
Business casual. Due to temperature fluctuation, a jacket or seater may be desired.
- WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN? DO NOT BRING CHILDREN.
Children are not permitted in the courtroom. Licensed child care providers can be obtained from Child Care & Resource Referral at (800) 886-3952 ext. 2
- WHAT ABOUT SECURITY?
You will have to pass through a metal detector upon entering the courthouse.
- HOW LONG WILL JURY SERVICE TAKE?
The length of service will be one day or until assigned trial is completed.
- WHAT ABOUT MEALS?
In certain situations the Court will provide a meal, but at other times it may be the responsibility of the juror to provide their own meals.
- WILL I BE COMPENSATED?
If required to report for jury selection, you will be paid $30.00 per day. If you are a sworn member of the jury the rate is $80.00 per day for up to 5 days, and $90.00 per day beginning the 6th day. In addition, you will be paid for mileage.

- WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
Parking is available at the Madison County parking lot located across from the Government Center. Parking also available on the streets.
- ARE CELL PHONES ALLOWED IN THE COURT?
Electronic devices should be turned off or set to silent.
