Loss of Greg Eckhardt
The IAHMR Board is saddened by the sudden loss of IAHMR member and board secretary Greg Eckhardt. Greg passed on Aug. 24. He was a great friend, a lifetime member and a constant supporter of IAHMR. Greg could always be counted on to volunteer on the many IAHMR projects, especially during the Indiana Hazmat Conference. He will be deeply missed by the organization.
Greg was also the commander of the Porter County Hazardous Materials Team and treasurer of the Porter County LEPC.
Please keep Greg’s family and colleagues in your thoughts during this time.
Rest easy, Greg. We’ll take it from here.
Stronger Together
Indiana is a stronger state when first responders collectively understand how to prepare for and respond to the threats against them, especially for situations involving hazardous materials.
Recognizing this need to help responders preserve life and safely and effectively handle hazmat emergencies, the Indiana Alliance of Hazardous Materials Responders (IAHMR) promotes, supports, protects and unifies its membership of first responders and hazmat specialists across the state.
With a growing membership, IAHMR provides its members high-quality training, open lines of communication and peer support for both individual hazmat responders and their agencies.
