Training Requirements to Become a Qualified Medication Aide

The QMA training program consists of at least 100 hours of training to include 60 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of supervised practicum. The training program must be approved by Indiana Department of Health (IDOH).

Qualified Medication Aide Testing

Testing is administered through Ivy Tech Community College. Ivy Tech Community College has a CNA/QMA Central Testing Office located in Indianapolis that processes all applications and schedules testing throughout the state. This office is staffed by Central Coordinators.

As of January 1, 2025, the fee for the Qualified Medication Aide written (computer-based) test is $90.00.
