Indiana Bicentennial Crocks
Pottery, Crocks
These are ceramic crocks that are formed on the potter's wheel; Most are made from clay that is mined in Clay City, Indiana. The pieces are stamped with individual letters to spell out the Bicentennial theme. They are then dried, fired to 1900 degrees, glazed then fired again to about 2200 degrees. Most are glazed in an iron red, green , or blue glaze, or combinations of either glaze.

The Pre-1820 Traditional American Round Broom, with its almost forgotten construction technique, is the Broom Makers favorite. The tightly compressed brush focuses the energy of the sweep in a smaller area, making it a more powerful tool. The round broom, great for use on the front porch and rear deck, works well on carpets too. A rare broom and hard to find! As seen in the Corydon Capital Building.

State of Indiana scroll saw cutting
Scroll Saw Treasures
This state of Indiana wooden wall hanging was hand cut using a scroll saw. It features some of the local attractions in our state. Such as: An Indy race car with checkered flags, a covered bridge and an antique automobile.
It was cut out of 1/4" oak plywood and has two coats of golden oak stain applied to it. The backer is cut from 1/4" birch plywood that has two coats of black spray painted applied to it. The black paint really helps make the design pop out. Three coats of poly have been applied to the finish to help protect it from damage and to give the cutting a shine. A sawtooth hanger is on the back for easy hanging.
