A cheery red Cardinal, the Indiana state bird, sits on a pine bough bringing joy to any season at your home.
This handmade piece measures approximately 16" wide by 9" high and comes wired to a copper rod. Each piece is created by hand in my home studio. Each piece is unique, just like you! So, please leave room for minor variations.
This piece is part of the Indiana Bicentennial Celebration & Marketplace.

Cut-paper and watercolor vellum print of Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument
"Peace" (Monument Circle, Circle of Lights) Watercolor & Black Acrylic Cut-Paper Luminaries by Elizabeth Seagull Heeter.
The spectacular centerpiece of the city. Each year the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in downtown Indianapolis is illumined by nearly 5,000 twinkling lights making the shape of a giant Christmas tree. My daughter always squeals with delight when she spots the "light tree" downtown.
With my design, I wanted to find a special perspective on the lights and the monument (from within the circle) and to emphasize the powerful theme of peace.
A unique and eye-catching gift, party favor, or table decoration!
Bison Carving of Indiana Black Walnut
A Bicentennial Collectible that is “ALL INDIANA”. In 1800 the Indiana Territory was the first new territory established from a portion of the Northwest Territory and the American Bison was here. This magnificent animal depicted on our State Seal has now been carved from fine Black Walnut, grown in Indiana, carved in Indiana by a lifelong resident of Indiana. This carving and the natural color of the wood is a very accurate interpretation of the actual bison seen in Indiana 200 years ago.

Cut paper and watercolor print of our capital city, Indianapolis
"Circle City" Watercolor & Black Acrylic Cut Paper Lantern by Elizabeth Seagull Heeter.
An elegant and luminous scene featuring Indiana's capital city, Indianapolis. Perfect to decorate the home or office.
History credits the capital city's surveyor Alex Ralston for making Indianapolis into a "Circle City." Inspired by the layout of Washington, D.C., Ralston put a circle smack in the middle of the mile-wide city plan. His intention was that the governor's mansion be built there, but today it's home to the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. Today the circle is referred to as Monument Circle.
This artwork was inspired by the dramatic downtown view from the corner of East Washington and Delaware.
A unique and eye-catching gift, party favor, or table decoration!

This is a limited edition print of an original ink drawing depicting the covered bridge in Mill Race Park, Columbus, Indiana.
Original mixed media piece
This original piece depicts the former St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, which was founded in the late 1800s and was located in downtown Columbus, Indiana. Created from mixed media, the artwork is a combination of water based paint, India ink, and colored pencil, and it's matted in white and finished in a grey, wood frame.
Original mixed media piece
This original mixed media piece was created using the same techniques practiced in 15th century Turkey. Paper was hand marbled starting with the stone design, and then a variety of patterns were made from it using special rakes and combs.
Just as our ancestors wasted nothing in making quilts, Brackney saves scraps of paper left from making stationery, boxes, books, and other artwork, and she uses them in making quilt-type pieces such as Little Hoosiers.
Original embossing
Printed on black, this hand pulled, framed embossing was inspired by Chaos I, the kinetic sculpture created by Swiss artist Jean Tinguely. The sculpture is the focal point of The Commons in downtown Columbus, Indiana.
