Indianapolis-The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) and the Columbus Human Relations Commission will conduct a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar for attorneys and legal professionals in Columbus Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Columbus Human Rights Commission’s office on 123 Washington Street. The free training, titled Equal Employment Law Update, will be worth 3.0 CLE credits.
"It is important that we reach every corner of the state in our education and outreach efforts,” said Jamal L. Smith, Executive Director of the ICRC. “We want to ensure that legal professionals are familiar with recent cases and any changes in legislation.”
The seminar, which begins at 9:00 am, will be led by local attorneys Stephen E. Schrumpf (Brown DePrez & Johnson), James L. Whitlach (Bunger & Robertson) and former Director of the Columbus Human Relations Commission Arlette Tinsley. The program will examine both the plaintiff and defendant sides of local, state and federal discrimination laws in employment.

The CLE in Columbus is just one in a series of seminars in the ICRC’s 2012 Statewide Continuing Legal Education Program. Each of the program’s six seminars are free to attend and will focus on local, state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
