The Economic Development Administration is seeking applications for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding allocations for EDA Recovery Act. Priority given to benefit regions that have experience sudden and severe economic dislocation and job loss due to restructuring:

  • Both rural and urban areas
  • High levels of unemployment
  • Low income levels
  • Large concentrations of low-income families
  • Significant declines in per capita income
  • High rate of business failures
  • Sudden major layoffs or plant closures
  • Trade impacts
  • Military base closures
  • Natural or other major disasters
  • Reduced tax bases
  • Population loss due to lack of employment opportunities

Eligible Applicants:

  • State governments
  • County governments
  • City or township governments
  • Special district governments
  • Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Private institutions of higher education
