Kellar, James H. An Introduction to the Prehistory of Indiana. Indianapolis: Indiana Historical Society, 1983.
This book is very useful for secondary level and adults. Highly recommended.
Lilly, Eli. Prehistoric Antiquities of Indiana. Indianapolis: Indiana Historical Society, 1937.
The Lilly book is a classic on the subject. Adult reading.
Macaulay, David. Motel of the Mysteries. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1979.
Macaulay presents a delightfully funny and sarcastic treatment of archaeology. This is a good source to use with a secondary school class.
McIntosh, Jane. The Practical Archaeologist: How We Know What We Know About the Past. New York: Facts On File Publications, 1986.
The question and answer format makes this adult book easier for students.
Morrison, Velma Ford. Going On A Dig. New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1981.
Another good source for students interested in learning more about archaeology. Intermediate level.
