Shirley Gordon Jackson (third from left), Charles Gordone's sister, attended the dedication ceremony for the state marker that commemorates her brother's life and career. She wrote a book about Gordone entitled A Place to be Someone: Growing up with Charles Gordone.
Approximately 60 people attended the dedication ceremony for the Charles Gordone state marker. The marker is located at the Elkhart Public Library.
